We are all on our own journey, somewhere, somehow. Our paths have crossed suddenly, yours and mine and I'm not sure how to introduce myself.

I am another pilgrim, trying to walk humbly with my God and politely with the other pilgrims. I believe in salt, light, shadow, eternity, laughter, earth, love, justice, alternative views and good manners. God has nurtured me like a good dad for as long as I can remember... a kid needs all the help he can get in this strange world.

things I've done
I have done many things in my working life, including running a theatre group (writing, directing, acting, producing over an eight year period), writing and performing songs, mechanical engineering (BE, UNSW), puppetry, cartooning, book illustration, graphic design, multimedia design, internet design, business consultancy, oil painting, sculpture and glass-blowing.

Working for a small design studio, I created a CD Rom title for children that is still published internationally by Microsoft (everything from the concept through to art direction, illustration, animation and game design).

As the senior designer for ninemsn, I designed the infrastructure and site design for what is still the most popular web site in Australia (the design has changed many times since then of course).

The work I did with NCLSR on designing the book "Winds of Change" was regarded as ground breaking, and the design concepts have carried over to their many subsequent publications.

I believe that I created the very first animated political cartoons for the internet. I did them for the news editor at ninemsn because he thought it would be a great idea but I didn't realise it was so radical. I'll try and dig them up for those that are interested.

things I'd like to do
Learn Spanish and Mandarin, learn a martial art, get better at dancing and rock climbing, write for film and/or TV, do more cartoons, find a girl, get a house with animals and water, create or find a stronger sense of community, get back to music and create some fantastic glass pieces. In the meantime I'll try to finish the web site and the aquarium and maybe clean my room.

I would like to grow as a person, contribute something good and lasting to my community and get better at the things I do. At the very least, I hope one of the cartoons in this site speaks to your spirit and that your visit here will be a blessing to you.

thanks
There are many people who I am thankful for (or to). Friends, family and role models are always on this list.

With relation to these cartoons, I am endlessly thankful to the NCLSR team, for the opportunities they offered me, their vision, wisdom and friendship.

Special thanks go to Peter Kaldor, Ruth Powell, Keith Castle, John Bellamy, Joy, Sandra, Meri, Bronwyn, Louise, Bob and the others who've inhabited the offices over the years. Thanks to Dean Drayton and John Reid who were instrumental in getting the whole show on the road and to Jeff Blair for the courage and faith it took to publish Winds of Change. Thanks also to the people at Open Book Publishers with whom I've always had good dealings.

The whole NCLSR adventure began for me when Merilyn Correy asked Dave Kendall to recommend a cartoonist. Thanks Dave.

There are other books and other cartoons which don't appear on this site (yet). I am thankful to the excellent people at Federation Press and Finch Publishing for allowing me to contribute to their work.
